Epsom is our furthest regular patch south, about six miles from the yard and properly into Surrey. Plots get bigger the further out you go, and gardens that back onto the Downs or open ground are common.
Bigger and more exposed means the fencing spec goes up. Long runs need the line setting out properly before anything goes in the ground; open aspects need closeboard on concrete posts rather than panels; and driveways on this kind of plot are usually wide enough that gates want making rather than buying off a shelf. All of that is normal work for us — it just wants quoting on site rather than over the phone.
